Scammers are often detected within 1-2 days after registration and they get deleted. If a woman wrote to you as it was written on the dating site from your country, but later she appears to be from Russia, Ukraine, Nigeria then yes, it is a scam.Yes, “women” can have different explanations why they registered from another country, but mostly those are excuses.
Recently there are also Nigerian scams originating from Malaysia, China, India, Turkey, Spain, Cyprus, Egypt, as that's where Nigerians are located since they can easily get to these countries without visas or on the student visas.
This type of scam is based on the same idea - a young lady is looking for a soul mate abroad.
Only this time, this lady supposedly does not speak English and does not have access to Internet at all, so she is using services of some Translation Agency or Internet Agency to help her with her correspondence.
In the first few letters the scammer will say what a good woman she is and how hard life is in Russia.
Her monthly salary is only a few hundred dollars, all Russian men are drunks and maybe her family died in a tragic accident or they are ill and in need of surgery.
The scammers (who play both the lady and the translation agency) milk all men interested in correspondence with this lady for money for translation services for as long as possible.
